S-Beck-tacular story

Ross
Was reading one of my many Sting newsletters & saw the link to your site...Very cool if I may add. I certainly know how you must have felt upon meeting Mr. Sumner...I've had the unbelievable experience of meeting our favorite music man three times...Each more amazing than the next. The first time was by chance in November of 1999 during the Tampa stop of the BND tour. My friend & I were staying in a hotel across the street from the venue and found out from a very small crowd that he generally arrives for the soundcheck at five, so we waited...And sure enough, he drove up...Right on time...I'll never forget seeing the vans...Then Dom...And before I knew it, Sting was standing in front of me...He was completely cool...Signed autographs, took pics. & chatted with about twenty of us before going in...Will never forget that show...In fact, I felt like I was floating on cloud nine for the majority of it...LOL.

My next meeting came two years later in January of '01 while he performed here in Jacksonville. I got lucky then because of my radio contacts...Have been in the biz. for about ten years now. The funny part here was that I didn't get word that I was heading back stage until the very last minute...Was hanging at the back gates to our Coliseum, talking with other fans and basically hoping to get a glimpse of the band on their way in when my music director walked out with Sting's record rep...James...Maybe you've met him...? Anyway, was a bit more composed for my second encounter...Well, maybe not...You'll see from the pic...LOL. I actually had friends who aren't big Sting fans take copies of the pic. to work & can't even begin to tell how many "Wow's" I've gotten since then.
Speaking of the word "Wow," I definitely had to say that in January after I was kissed on the cheek by our beloved Englishman! Again, thanks to my radio contacts, got to meet with him backstage...This time in Miami for the kickoff of the '04 leg of the Sacred Love tour. All I can say is that with each time I've met him, he just seems to grow more endearing in my eyes...He's quite funny, a bit shy and yet sooo generous.

Anyway, most of my friends think I'm nuts...Think they're wondering if I'm going for a world record on the amount of times one person can meet Sting...LOL. I'm hoping for a fourth as I type...Seeing him in WPB next week...And waiting with my fingers crossed for James to call & give the thumbs up.

Ciao,
Becky
